Boudoir PEI - All about my boudoir experience with Boudoir by Naomi Claire

1. What was the main reason you wanted to do a boudoir session?

This boudoir shoot was inspired by me turning 26 years old. What better way to celebrate all that you are, the body you’ve worked so incredibly hard to achieve and the vision of elegance and beauty. Things just sort of fell into place from and I am SO happy that they did. I want to mention that though I took this as an opportunity to celebrate a birthday, there does not need to be a huge milestone happening in your life in order for you to book a boudoir session. Girl, you celebrate, rejoice and love your body any day of the week if that’s what you wanna do!!

2. Did you have any fears before the session, and if so, what was your biggest fear?

In my case, there was zero amount of fear going into this boudoir shoot – only because Naomi and I worked out the details ahead of time, ample advice was provided from the beginning and I was lucky enough to have been quite prepared myself. Lucky me right? It’s completely okay to have a bit of fear, worries and details not working out totally according to plan. Great and beautiful things call for just a little chaos, but that’s what builds us to become stronger and see ourselves in ways we could have never imagined without it. Getting back to the question real quick, my “biggest fear” was that I would forget an item at home, such as a specific pair of panties that I wanted to wear during the shoot. Somehow this didn’t happen, but even if it did, it’s nice to carry back up pieces and double check what you’re bringing on the day of the shoot. In any case, no worries. Just sit back, enjoy some wine [or whatever you’re into] and let the magic happen.

3. How did the session turn out? Were your fears unfounded? 

The session turned out in the most luxurious, patient and graceful way that I could have ever imagined. Honestly it was above and beyond, thanks to Naomi’s gentle yet empowering nature. We got in a groove, took delicate time to change outfits poses and angles and from there the shots speak for themselves! Naomi also ensured for a wonderful atmosphere start to finish. The hair and makeup artist was fantastic, was laid back yet has a way about her that beams confidence and inspires great conversation. This was my first and only boudoir session and it honestly made my dreams come true in ways I couldn’t have imagined on my own. These ladies were incredibly kind, the session so much fun, and the results will be with me to look back on for years and years to come.

4. Did the boudoir session change how you view yourself in a positive way?  

Yes, in the best, most positive kind of way. We spend a lot of time looking at ourselves in the mirror each and every day wondering .. is that what others see when they look at me? Is this all there is to me? This boudoir shoot revealed the most beautiful “version” of me that I’ve ever seen and in the back of my mind, I’ll always know that she is there. On the good days and on the bad ones, she is beautiful, and she is capable of accomplishing the most wondrous of things. What you see in the mirror does not always do justice to who you really are, or who you’re trying to become. Remember that you have beauty beyond the stars and it’s all within you, just as you are. It’s there, and don’t you ever forget it.

5. What would you say to anyone who is on the fence about doing a boudoir session? 

“Ohhh girl, get it!”. I mean, it takes a bit of coordination to put together, but figure out what’s right for you and move on ahead. It’s certainly a here and now kind of enjoyment, though it’s going to make you feel radiant each time to think back and check on the session photos for the rest of your life. A solid investment that will serve you in countless ways. Perhaps you could even experiment on your own at first by taking simple, yet scandalous photos with your phone and getting the feel for knowing yourself in this way before diving into the real deal. Look around the web, get some ideas of your own and roll with it. In any case, treat yourself! <3
