Wardrobe Guide
I know what you’re probably thinking…
“I have nothing to wear for this type of thing!”
I totally get it. Deciding what to wear can be a little intimidating.
But, don’t worry. You’re not alone! I will help you choose the best pieces to wear.
The best part is, you might actually be surprised by how many items you already own that would work really well for a boudoir session.
Here are a few ideas to get you started…
General Wardrobe Tips
Choose pastel colours, or stick with classic black, white or grey. Patterns don't photograph as well. Stay away from bright or neon colours.
Bring a good bra (with good support) and panty set.
If you are self-conscious about your middle, body suits, shape wear, or slips are great options! Shape wear is often overlooked, but it is such a GREAT option!
It is SUPER flattering on EVERY body, and looks incredible in images! Fitted items will actually be more flattering.Lace and layers always look great. Intricate lacy lingerie photographs beautifully!
If you like to wear heels, bring nude and/or black heels. (Not necessary if you don't like wearing heels, though)
The options on what you can wear are literally endless!
I love making each session unique, so if you have something you'd like to be photographed in, please bring it along!
Props and Accessories
Shoes: The higher the heel, the longer your legs will appear! They are not necessary though, and if you don't normally wear heels or are not comfortable in them, just wear bare feet.
Jewelry: Feel free to bring any jewelry you might want to wear. Remember, less is more though.
Props: If you want to bring a prop to show off your interests or personality, thats great. Just be careful that it doesn't get too costume like. If you're doing your session as a gift for your significant other, some ideas might be their favourite jersey, or a basketball/football/soccer ball (or whatever sport they are into).
Bonus Wardrobe Tips:
Legs: We all want long, gorgeous legs! Look for high cut bottoms, as the higher the opening, the longer your legs will look. If you have heels, bring them along, as they will make your legs look even longer than they are.
Tushy: If a great booty shot is on your list, I recommend bottoms that show just enough, but not too much. Some women can pull thongs off, but in general, thongs or string bikini bottoms are not so flattering.
Stomach: If you're worried about showing your stomach, a body suit or shape wear is a great choice. Bringing a beautiful lace robe/kimono is another great option.
Arms: If your arms are a concern, look for long sleeved body suits, bring a button down shirt, or a kimono/robe.
Bonus Preparation Tips:
Drink lots of water on the days leading up to your shoot, to help give you glowing skin!
Eat a small meal before your shoot. Don't starve yourself, but it’s a good idea to stay away from foods that will make you feel bloated.
Tan lines are difficult to remove. Be careful in the sun before your session to minimize harsh tan lines.
Cut the tags off your lingerie so they don't show in the photos
Paint your toe nails and finger nails a light/nude colour (or get a mani/pedi) a few days before your session. Nail polish is not required though, if you'd prefer not to paint your nails. (no chipped nail polish please!)
If you're getting waxed, I recommend getting it done a few days before hand. If you're shaving, I recommend shaving the night before and make sure you moisturize before you come!
