Boudoir PEI - Top Frequently Asked Questions | Charlottetown, PEI

The thought of a boudoir session may be intimidating, but do not let the unknown deter you from choosing you first and taking the time for self love!  When talking to women about their session, I have been asked all kinds of questions. I have compiled a list of 12 most frequently asked questions to give you insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me.

Will you share my images online?

Our Number 1 Priority is making sure our clients feel comfortable and confident with doing a boudoir session with us. It can be a life changing experience, but it may seem nerve wracking to some women. While you are learning how to love your body, you may not be quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for that special someone in your life. We completely respect your privacy and will not share any of your images online without written consent.

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it really depends on your personality! There are a bunch of outfit ideas other than lacy little things. Head over to this blog post about choosing outfits to see some more ideas!

Do you Have payment plans?

We offer a few payment plan options. We can either set you up on a pre-payment plan which would mean your whole session would be paid off before your shoot. The other option is to set up a payment plan after you see your images. The payment plan would need to be paid off before you receive your album and digital images. If you have more questions about payment plans, please send me a message!

Is Hair and Makeup included?

Hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir sessions! I believe it is really important for you to feel pampered and not stress over getting ready. The hair & makeup artist I work with has been carefully hand selected to ensure you get the best possible experience. We will go over what look you want, and before they leave, we’ll make sure that you are 100% happy with your hair and makeup.

Do you photoshop my images?

I do edit your images for light, exposure, colour, and light skin retouching. However, I do NOT alter your body size. I believe it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don't like and seeing how beautiful you really are through someone else’s eyes. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and are not thrilled about, that is okay! We will have a chat before the session about if there are any parts of your body you are self conscious about and I can easily pose you around them. I am skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and I promise to bring out your inner beauty!

Where should I buy outfits?

There are a few places to buy outfits in person and online; here are a few suggestions:
Victoria Secret, Adoreme.com, Amazon, Shein, Sokoloff Lingerie, swen., La Senza, La Vie en Rose, Aerie, foreveryourslingerie.ca.

What type of print products do you have?

We offer a variety of albums, and your album will be custom designed to your personal preferences. After you have selected your favorite images from your session, a custom album will be carefully put together for you. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print! We also offer enlargements prints and acrylic block prints too.

Do you offer digitals?
Yes! Any album or print you purchase include the digital version of the print as well. We also have digital collections if you don’t want anything printed.

I am freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?

Many women feel a little nervous at first… it is completely normal! But you’ll be surprised at how much you enjoy your session! I promise that you’ll have a great time, and when you see your gorgeous images, it will totally be worth it! Knowing what to expect will help calm your nerves. Be sure to check out my preparation guide HERE to help you to feel more confident preparing for your boudoir shoot, AND listen to these women’s personal testimony from their previous boudoir session with me HERE.

How many outfits should I bring?

You can bring 3-4 different things to wear, and I’ll help you choose the ones that will photograph the best. We’ll typically shoot 2-3 different looks during your session. Most women end their session with out white sheet set, which are always some of their favourites from the whole session! These are just “implied nude”. You will still have your underwear and bra on underneath the sheet. Also, If you’d rather not wear lingerie and would like to do more of a modest session, that is totally fine as well! The beautiful thing about boudoir is there is no 'proper' outfit. You can wear anything from a wedding veil to a button up shirt to a white bedsheet! Get creative and look through your wardrobe to see what might work!
